The last few years have been a period of massive change in the prepress area. This change has come about as desktop publishing has transferred functionality in working practices by de-skilling previously complex craft-related operations.

The most significant change has been the virtual disappearance of the trade typesetting company, replaced by postscript service bureau. Companies such as Perfect Print that still provide a typesetting service have had to make major changes in their working practices and the types of work they handle.

Perfect Print have a long history in typesetting and repro, and therefore can produce good clean artwork from Mac or PC using a variety of software.

Our extensive ethernet-linked network consists of 8 Macs and 7 PCs all configured to link via Maclan with Fiery and Creo rips, poster printers and digital presses.

We can produce bulk setting in foreign languages and all other types of time consuming inputting. We have OCR software for the scanning of large amounts of text.

Photo manipulation is produced in Photoshop, creative artwork in Illustrator or Freehand and page make-up in QuarkXpress, Pagemaker, InDesign, Publisher and Word.

Thousands of fonts and digital images can be used to complement the design.
